Magic Johnson coming to San Antonio to raise HIV/AIDS awareness

NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson may be retired from the LA Lakers, but he is still a champion for charities. On Saturday, March 5, Johnson will be in San Antonio to advocate for HIV/AIDS prevention and research, and social services for senior citizens — both charitable causes close to my heart.

Johnson, who is a person living with HIV/AIDS, will speak at a youth rally at St. Philip’s College, from 4:00-6:30 pm, to raise HIV/AIDS awareness and urge young people to get tested. The San Antonio AIDS Foundation will be there with their free, quick test truck. Johnson then travels over to the Freeman Coliseum Exhibition Hall where he is the keynote speaker for the 2nd Annual Claude & Zerona Black Developmental Leadership Gala and Heroes Dinner. Tickets for the dinner are $75 and can be purchased by calling 210-224-5953. All proceeds from this event will help support the wonderful work the Claude Black Foundation does to provide social services to youth and senior citizens on the Eastside of San Antonio. Ya'll come!
