Spoil Your Pet Silly at the SA Urban Pet Market

The Pooch House will show their pet couture line at the Project Rescue Runway event. There’s a new poop-up pop-up in town, and it’s the San Antonio Urban Pet Market, launching tomorrow at the Paul Jolly Adoption Center Petco Pavilion across the street from the zoo. It’s an alternative to the big box pet store, and much like a farmer’s market, there will be local vendors for pet-friendly products and services including dog couture (!!!), gourmet treats (a la Pawsitiviely Sweet Bakery, see our review), grooming, doggy daycare, pet artists (finally, that fireplace portrait of Charlie) and more. Getting back to dog couture, a number of pets will be gussied up for their runway debut. If you have a four-legged diva willing to strut a tutu, then show up before noon to sign up for the pet fashion show of Project Rescue Runway, which will also feature SAPA foster animals in Pooch House Couture. In addition, there will also be a companion foster market where kind hearts can connect with a new pet and receive half off adoption fees. All in all, it’s just a sweet event in which humans dote over pets of all persuasions, and a portion of the proceeds benefit San Antonio Pets Alive (SAPA!), helping to make San Antonio a no-kill city. And just get a load of some names of the attending vendors:

Pawsitively Sweet Bakery Dog Treats, Skincare, and Accessories Pawderosa Ranch Dog Play & Stay Bed & Biscuit Pet Care The Pooch House Pet Couture Spoiled Rotten Pet Care (ok, you could never sell Spoiled Rotten Kid Care) The Pooparazzi Pet Waste Removal

March 8 and every second Saturday of the month Paul Jolly Adoption Center Petco Pavilion (directly across from the SA Zoo main entrance) 12-4 p.m. sa-urbanpetmarket.com
