Bonehead Quote of the Week: Pastor John Hagee on the 'Blood Moon' Prophecy

Our resident megachurch pastor, John Hagee, recently issued an ominous warning to his SA congregation, beware of:

"[A] world-shaking event that will happen between April 2014 and October 2015,” said Hagee.

And according to the Daily Mail, Hagee explains: "[The Bible] just says 'when you see these signs' - and four blood moons is a very significant one - 'the end of this age is coming.”

Hagee, leader of San Antonio’s Cornerstone Church, is referring to the rare four ‘blood moon’ lunar eclipses expected to appear on April 15 and end on September 28, 2015. According to NASA, the event, known as a 'tetrad', occurs when the sun, Earth and moon are aligned.

Completely based in science, fact, logic  Biblical verses, the televangelist has continually promoted (and dramatized) the idea of a historic and world altering event during the lunar phenomenon, most notably in his 2013 book, Four Blood Moons: Something Is About To ChangeAfter the book was released Hagee asked, "What is the prophetic significance [of the four blood moons]? Is this the end of the age?" Hagee, in a new kick to promote his book, is also gearing up for a major TV special on the first night of the tetrad.

Here’s one prophecy in all this we can probably count on: Hagee’s fearmongering is sure to drum up some book sales.
