Bastrop County is burning.
The fire started yesterday near Smithville, Texas, prompting evacuations as it grew through the afternoon.
Bastrop County Emergency Management officials reported on Facebook this morning that the fire burned 250 acres and was 30 percent contained.
Officials with the National Weather Service are urging caution today. And that warning extends to Bexar County, where fire conditions are elevated.
In 2011, the most destructive fire in Texas history hit Bastrop County, burning thousands of acres, destroying more than 1,600 homes, killing two people and causing more than $300 million in property damage.
