The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day March is just a week away, and DreamWeek San Antonio is in full swing.

As thousands head out to one of the largest marches in the nation, VIA Metropolitan Transit will be offering complimentary bus service to and from the march.

To catch a bus, park at the Freeman Coliseum (3201 E. Houston St. Lot 1) or St. Phillip's College (1801 Martin Luther Kind Dr. Lot 22) between 8 and 10 a.m. Riders will be dropped off on MLK Drive, west of Upland Drive, for the march. Pick-up service is at Pittman Sullivan Park (1101 Iowa St.), where buses will return between noon and 3 p.m.

“VIA is proud to support the historic Martin Luther King, Jr. Day March and honors the contributions of the San Antonio community in preserving Dr. King’s legacy,” VIA President and CEO Jeffrey C. Arndt says in a press release. “Public transportation has played a pivotal role in the history of civil rights. We recognize the role public transportation plays in the continued prosperity of our community, and the importance of advancing transportation in the Greater San Antonio Region.”
