Spurs fans aren't the only ones to notice that forward LaMarcus Aldridge is hitting his stride in San Antonio.

Aldridge was named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week, the Spurs announced today in a news release. This is the ninth time he's won the award in his career, his first in San Antonio.

The week of Monday February 1 was by far Aldridge's best week so far with the Spurs. The team's biggest off-season acquisition averaged 26 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks during wins against the Orlando Magic, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers. He posted his season-high points total against the Pelicans, dropping 36 points while going toe-to-toe with fellow All-Star forward and defensive stalwart Anthony Davis.

Aldridge's big week was timely, too. It came while fellow big man Tim Duncan was out with a right knee injury. Duncan has not played since January 25, and it's unclear when he'll return to the court.

Aldridge and the Spurs have only two games this week, abbreviated because of the All-Star Game. Aldridge and forward Kawhi Leonard will both represent the Spurs in the game.

Check out highlights from Aldridge's big scoring night against the Pelicans below:
