San Antonio will unite March 5 to "uplift the voices of all women and girls" at the 26th annual San Antonio International Woman's Day March & Rally.

"We march through the streets of downtown San Antonio, our city, to say Women, This is the Moment! ¡Mujeres, Este es el Momento! This is the moment to end racism, classism, homophobia and sexism; to stop violence against women, children, and people of color; and to speak out on behalf of those whose voices are not heard nor respected," the rally's announcement states.

There will be music and dance, activities for children, free snacks, community resource information and free std testing. Speakers and performers will discuss the privatization of school systems, reproductive rights, police brutality, transgender people's rights and migrant rights, along with a call to shut down immigration detention centers, to end domestic violence and to pursue climate justice.

"We invite our daughters, mothers, and grandmothers; our sisters and brothers in the struggle; our neighbors, business owners and community organizations; our government leaders, educators, and workers to join us," organizers say. "This is the moment to connect, to listen, to act, and to raise our collective voices. Out of love for our communities, we come together to envision and create a world in which all people are free from exploitation, oppression and violence."

The march starts at 10:30 a.m. at Plaza del Zacate (501 W. Commerce) with a blessing is followed by the march at 11 a.m. and then a rally.
