For the first time in a decade, feminist, writer and activist Cherríe Moraga is returning to San Antonio for a plática celebrating the publication of the fourth edition of This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color.

Sponsored by the Esperanza Peace & Justice Center and the LULAC Orgullo de San Antonio, there will be a pre-program musical performance by El Tallercito de Son; a presentation by Moraga; testimonies to the impact of the collection by community members; a panel discussion between Moraga; Chicana historian Antonia I. Castañeda; Esperanza Peace & Justice Center's director Graciela I. Sanchez; and UTSA professor of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies that examines the continuing impact and relevance of the book.

This Bridge Called My Back was published 35 years ago and examines women of color and feminism "through personal essays, criticism, interviews, testimonials, poetry, and visual art."

The plática is Saturday, March 26, at 7 p.m. at Esperanza (922 San Pedro Ave.).
