Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard would surely rather still be playing basketball right now than win any award, but this week has probably been a serviceable consolation.

Leonard was named First Team All-NBA today, the first time he's made any All-NBA team. He was also named First Team All-Defense yesterday as the association's lone unanimous choice for that honor.

The other first team members include Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry (the sole unanimous selection), Cleveland Cavalier forward LeBron James, Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook.

Curry was also won the Most Valuable Player award unanimously, sweeping the first place votes. Leonard came in second.

Leonard's frontcourt companion LaMarcus Aldridge was named to the third team. Leonard and Aldridge's awards keep an impressive streak alive for the Silver and Black: This is the 19th year in a row that the Spurs have had a player named All-NBA, stretching back to the 1997-1998 season, when David Robinson was named to the second team.
