A video surfaced on social media this weekend that shows a white couple hurling racial slurs at a black family inside Chester's Hamburgers Co. in Universal City. As the confrontation reaches a boil, the white woman is heard on video telling the family, "My ancestors owned your ass, bitch… Black people don’t belong in America."

The video, which was posted via Facebook live, starts with Emarald Robinson explaining to her mother that a couple inside the restaurant had directed racist comments her way. Once the family goes to the table to confront the pair, things devolve quickly.

Robinson tells viewers, “So, Facebook, this is what racist people look like."

The couple can be heard saying “Hi, Facebook!” and adding “shut the fuck up” and calling them “god damn niggers.”

Here's the original video, which now has more than 290,000 views.

Though managers called the cops, it doesn't appear from the video that either bystanders or employees tried to keep the families apart. Sources say the squabble was essentially over by the time police officers arrived on the scene.

Viewers of the video suggested a boycott of the restaurant for their lack of response during the incident.

Later, a Chester's employee was seen on Facebook noting both families were asked to leave and adding "Boycott Chesters?? Haha. Go for it. According to social media you never see many black folk in there anyway, right?" The comment was followed by another where the employee teased, "Best Eva! Lol. And since you're not black, you'll be treated with the utmost respect."

A group of protesters try to arrange a peaceful sit-in on Monday evening, but were met with tow trucks and police officers, and the group of eight or so dispersed.

Lani Andrea, an activist and mother of three biracial children ages 6, 8 and 10 says she's had to explain the recent fatal police shootings to them, which explains why she joined the protesters on Monday and posted the following video to Facebook:

As of Tuesday, Andrea, 27, posted a second video where she says the employee who made the comments on Facebook is no longer part of the Chester's Hamburger Co. We put in a call to Chester's corporate office to confirm and will update if we hear back.
Messages to Emarald Robinson have so far gone unanswered. According to Andrea, the group's next step is to reach out to the employers of the white couple in the video so they're aware of the incident.

On Tuesday evening, Robinson shared her version of the events via Facebook live:
