VIA Metro Waiving Bus Fees On Election Day

This Election Day, VIA Metropolitan Transit is offering free rides for San Antonio residents with a valid voter registration card.

As part of the ongoing "Ride VIA to Vote" initiative, VIA is waiving fees on its regular bus line and its disabled riders service, VIAtrans, on Nov. 7.

VIA is no stranger to helping the San Antonio community get to the voting booth. The company also offered free rides last spring even though their very livelihood was on the line that ballot season.

"By offering complimentary rides on Election Day, we are highlighting the important role public transportation can play in helping people engage in the process and have their voices heard,” VIA President Jeffrey C. Arndt said via press release in 2016.
