San Antonio is the place to be, y'all.

Don't believe us? Just ask National Geographic Traveler. The highly-prized magazine has named San Antonio one of the world's must-see destinations in 2018.

The Alamo City is just one of 21 cities around the globe to earn the honor, but is the only Texas city and one of three U.S. cities named (Cleveland, OH and Oahu, HI were also picked).

The distinction coincides with the city's year-long tricentennial celebrations — which are, admittedly, a little iffy at this point.

We're not sure whether Nat Geo is up to date on the latest tricentennial chisme. It was revealed in September that less than half of the funds have been raised, and contested CEO Edward Benavides stepped down earlier this month. The commission is still searching for a permanent CEO, despite 2018 just being a month away.

Tricentennial aside, visitors who follow Nat Geo's advice won't be disappointed. San Antonio pulls in more than 34 million tourists every year, and rightfully so. The city is a hub of authentic culture and history (remember the Alamo, duh), amazing food (another recent recognition by UNESCO), up-and-coming artists and musicians (a local band JUST got nominated for three Grammys) and so much more.
