Texas Televangelist Says You Don't Need a Flu Shot, You Just Need Jesus

In the panic of the flu outbreak, one Texas televangelist is saying that we need not worry. All we need is Jesus.

Gloria Copeland, a televangelist that serves as a faith advisor to President Donald Trump, is preaching that flu season isn't real. In a Facebook video, the Tarrant County woman shares her disbelief in the flu.

"He himself bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases. By his stripes we were healed," Copeland said while looking down as if to remember her point. "When we were healed, we are healed."
Copeland's remarks come after more than 70 people have died from the flu this season, and that's just in North Texas, according to the Dallas News. Copeland believe that those people should have told themselves that they didn't have flu symptoms, and that everyone would have been okay. For the living, Copeland believes that voicing that mantra will prevent them from catching the flu.

"Inoculate yourself with the word of God," Copeland advised.

Unsurprisingly, this isn't the first time Copeland has dismissed modern medicine over her faith. Copeland once told a woman with cancer that she could either take "some poison" that will make her sicker, or she could go to church and be healed by the word of God.

For those buying into her preachings, Copeland has got you covered.

"Flu, I bind you off of the people in the name of Jesus," she said in the video.
