Last time Vice President Mike Pence visited San Antonio, it was to meet with the surviving victims of the Sutherland Springs church massacre (and talk about it in the middle of a high school football field). Pence will return Friday morning for a slightly less altruistic reason: To fundraise for sitting President Donald Trump.

Pence is set to fly in to San Antonio Friday to stump at a closed-door fundraiser for Trump Victory — a group that finances Trump's election campaign and the Republican National Committee.

According to the White House, Pence will then join Senator Ted Cruz in McAllen for a tour of the Texas-Mexico border, guided by U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. Cruz, who's fighting to keep his senate seat this election season, will likely use the opportunity for some campaign-boosting photoshoots. On Saturday, Pence heads to Dallas for a few more campaign fundraisers, including one with Protect the House, a group rallying behind vulnerable Republican members of Congress.
