San Antonio is on the map, y'all. A list of the 10 Coolest U.S. Cities to Visit in 2018 from Forbes includes the Alamo City.

While many travelers flock to bigger cities like New York or well-known for niche interests like Nashville, contributor Ann Abel said they should spend time time in cities they've never "given a second glance."

As a city that often gets skipped over for tours from big musicians, we totally get that and appreciate the nod from Forbes. Abel said she asked high-end travel designers about their favorite lesser-known destinations in the U.S.

These posh travelers told her that the San Antonio's proximity to Mexico is apparent in our "sophisticated food, exceptional art and cultural traditions." The article specifically points out Blue Star Contemporary and Ruiz-Healy Art on the art scene, as well as El Milagrito for the food scene.

Of course, a shoutout to San Antonio wouldn't be possible without mentioning our tricentennial and Fiesta, which Abel called our answer to Mardi Gras. She wrote that the "city goes wild with cultural events." More like turkey legs and pint after pint of beer.
