In a list of the top 20 coolest hotel pools in the U.S by travel site Expedia.com, San Antonio’s own JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa clocked in at #15.

Surrounded by 600 acres of oak-covered hills, the nine-acre water park freckled with royal blue recliners and umbrellas will essentially have you feeling super posh. The pool also includes a 1,100-foot lazy river, several waterslides, hot tubs and pool service so you can enjoy a piña colada while soaking up some serious vitamin D.

When being considered for the list, hotel pools were evaluated for family friendliness, aesthetics, and refined Instagram-level luxury.

With the first day of Summer around the corner, initiating the season of fully giving up on the state of your lawn, you might want to start booking deals for your weekend getaway. Alternatively, for more affordable, everyday ways to beat the heat, San Antonio offers plenty of other great options.

San Pedro Springs Pool is not only beautiful, with rows of shady cypress trees, but also completely free. The park, the second oldest in the country, itself has a rich history in being the home of the indigenous Payaya people (aka Yanaguana, the original San Antonio y’all). Not to mention it’s conveniently located, clean and most importantly—cold.
