A week after the vicious fire that devastated two apartment complexes in San Marcos, killing five people, the community is flooding with support.

On Thursday, the names of the deceased were released to the public: Nineteen year old Haley Michele Frizzell, Twenty-One year old David Ortiz, Twenty year old Dru Estes (a San Antonio native), Twenty-Three year old James Miranda and Twenty-Two year old Belinda Moats, who is presumed dead. Three of the victims were students at Texas State, University reports say.

Around 200 other residents have been displaced and have suffered burns and losses to their belongings.

If your heart is bleeding, here's how you can concretely assist the victims and their families in their time of grief.

SCOPE Benefit Show
On Wednesday, August 1, the campus organization is hosting a benefit show for victims of the fire. There will be musical performances, food, local artists and vendors selling pieces. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to the survivors and families of the deceased so that they may bury their loved ones properly. Bring cash, your Venmo app and/or non-perishable food, toiletries, and gift cards for donation. If you are unable to make it to the event, you can donate to the fundraising campaign here. 6-9am, Tx State United Campus Ministry, 510 N Guadalupe St, San Marcos.

DAHLIA WOODS Gallery Benefit
Tonight, July 27, drinks will be half off with all money earned going toward victims of the fire. They will also be accepting gift cards and donations. 6-9pm, 232 North LBJ Dr, San Marcos, (214) 563-7523.

Texas Music Park Benefit
The venue is hosting a large scale show to cover the cost of the funerals of each victim, which lays in the neighborhood of $10,000 each. They are calling on businesses to donate items for an auction. Again, if you are unable to attend the event, you can donate to their fundraiser. August 12, 12-11pm, 8989 N Interstate 39, New Braunfels, (210) 577-8633.
