Video Shows Firefighters Putting Out Car Fire on Loop 410 Near San Antonio Airport

Posted By on Thu, Sep 27, 2018 at 9:49 AM

A witness caught video showing San Antonio firefighters working to put out a car fire on Loop 410 late Wednesday night.

Jose Hernandez, though he goes by kappasf on YouTube, shared video on Wednesday of a silver SUV that caught fire around 10:45 p.m. He said the car ignited in front of the Hilton San Antonio Airport hotel at 611 Northwest Loop 410. It appears the driver had retreated to the parking lot.

"You could see it off of 410," Hernandez said. "You can tell that there was a fire. It was all filled with smoke."

In the video, the driver's door is ajar, and Hernandez said that "no one was injured" and "no one was in the car" while he was recording the video. He stopped at the scene as firefighters arrived, and said there wasn't an ambulance in sight. Hernandez noted that three of the four doors were open.

With the blaze in the vehicle's engine, firefighters can be seen hosing down the SUV until the flames are put out.
