A Florida man has been arrested after a woman said he groped her during a flight from Houston to Albuquerque.

The woman said she fell asleep during the Sunday flight and was awakened by a man seated behind her. She said the man had reached from behind and grabbed her breast.

Authorities identified the man as 49-year-old Tampa resident Bruce Michael Alexander. He told authorities that "the President of the United States says it's OK to grab women by their private parts," according to court documents.

The woman said "she felt her clothes move" and that the man's fingers were around her "bra line." She dismissed the man's touching, assuming it was an accident. The woman said the man touched her again later, grabbing her arm and squeezing her elbow before groping her breast.

According to reports, the woman confronted Alexander and told him that "she didn't know why he thought it was OK [to touch her] and he needed to stop."

The woman ended up moving seats, and local law enforcement was at the gate when the plane landed in Albuquerque. At that time, Alexander said his behavior was alright since President Donald Trump said so, referencing the 2005 Access Hollywood clip that shows Trump said famous people "can do anything," including grabbing woman inappropriately.
On Monday, Alexander was charged with abusive sexual contact, per a news release from the U.S. attorney's office in New Mexico. He'll remain in federal custody pending a preliminary hearing and detention hearing today. If found guilty, Alexander could face a maximum two-year jail sentence and a $250,000 fine.
