As last-minute voters head to the polls, many Americans are undoubtedly anxiously awaiting the results. If you're flip-flopping between local news stations and CNN waiting for updates, here's the rundown on how results will come in tonight.

Polls across Texas close at 7 p.m., meaning political analysts won't get a clear idea of how the numbers look until then – early-voting returns will be released shortly after 7 p.m. Election Day results will trickle in over the next few hours, so a clearer sense of the outcome will depend on the percentage of the precincts reporting from hour to hour.

Election experts predict the first wave of races will be called around 9 p.m. local time, though it's not uncommon for tight races not to be called until 11 p.m. or even later.

The Current will provide coverage throughout the evening and in the days following the election, but the Texas Tribune will provide up-to-date information on the races as information is confirmed.

In the meantime, all voters and political experts can do is guess the outcome. If you'd like to share your anxious vibes with fellow voters, you can check out local watch parties here.
