San Antonians got excited when IKEA announced an Alamo City store in November 2016, and now they can get even more excited about knowing its actual opening date.

The Swedish retailer announced today that its Live Oak location will open Wednesday, February 13, at 9 a.m. This will be IKEA's fifth store in Texas and its 49th U.S. location. In anticipation of the local buzz, the company said customers can begin lining up outside the store at 5 a.m.

"We look forward to recruiting and training the new co-workers joining the IKEA family, as well as sharing the IKEA experience with customers in the San Antonio area," store manager Diedre Goodchild said via press release.

The Live Oak store will be situated a whopping 289,000-sq. ft. building that already has the signature yellow IKEA logo and much of the blue exterior standing.

More information about the grand opening festivities and promotional deals will be available at
