Look out, Taco Cabana.

San Antonio-based Tex-Mex chain Tia’s Taco Hut now has a 13th — yes, 13th — Alamo City location in the works, according to a state regulatory filing.

The new Tia’s is planned for 3643 Evans Road — a short drive from TPC Parkway and across the street from a Salad and Go, a new Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe location and a Sprouts grocery store.

Construction on the North Side eatery is slated to begin later this month with a tentative completion date set for January 2026, the company’s filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows.

The Current reached out to a representative for Tia’s for more information but got no response by press time.

All of the homegrown Tia’s chain’s restaurants are in San Antonio with the exception of one in New Braunfels. The business was founded by local restaurateurs Benny and Lisa Costello.

Menu-wise, Tia’s focuses on affordable, familiar Tex-Mex fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurants offer $1.99 breakfast tacos all day long in addition to standbys such as nachos, quesadillas, tortas, fajita plates and more.

Each Tia’s location also has a small selection of burger and sandwich options for guests facing fajita fatigue.
