Here’s where to find fireworks and fun in San Antonio on the Fourth of July

San Antonio seldom passes up a chance to celebrate, and plenty of spots around town are pulling out the stops when it comes to honoring Independence Day. Here’s a rundown of places offering patriotic array of fireworks and festivities on (or around) July Fourth.

H-E-B Fourth of July at Woodlawn Lake Park: The San Antonio Parks Foundation will host its annual free Independence Day celebration at Woodlawn Lake Park. In addition to the brilliant fireworks finale, expect carnival rides, kids’ activities, wrestling matches, mariachis, DJs and an artisan and food fair. Stars & Stripes Salute at the Alamo: This free July Fourth event at the world-renowned historical site will culminate with a downtown fireworks display. In addition to a full day of family activities and food trucks, the gathering will feature live music from the U.S. Air Force Band of the West. Stars & Stripes on Houston Street Parade: This colorful downtown parade will return for its second year. Featuring both military and civilian showcases, the parade will start at downtown’s Legacy Park and make its way along Houston Street to Travis Park. Special seating packages are available for a fee. July 4th Weekend Celebration at Historic Market Square: It’s hard to think of a more puro San Antonio Fourth of July experience than celebrating at Market Square. The three-day event kicks off July 4 and will feature food, activities, live music and other entertainment. Free, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Historic Market Square, 514 W. Star Spangled Nights at Six Flags Fiesta Texas: The Northwest San Antonio theme park will present an immersive fireworks show on July 4 and 5 that gets underway at 9:15 p.m. both nights. Both nights’ displays will include 30 firing points from across the park, offering what organizers promise to be a “breathtaking, 360-degree celebration.” Tickets for the show are sold separately from regular admission and include multiple seating options. $10.99-$69.99, 9:15 p.m., Six Flags Fiesta Texas, (210) 697-5050, sixflags.com/fiestatexas.

H-E-B Independence Day Celebration with the San Antonio Missions: San Antonio’s minor-league baseball team will host an Independence Day celebration at Nelson Wolff Municipal Stadium on July 3.
