In the ’80s, wrestling promoters talked up something called the Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Connection, which begot plenty of questionable artistic endeavors. (Anybody remember Michael Hayes’ “Badstreet USA”?)

Now, it looks like an icon from the same era, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, is singlehandedly engineering a Rock ‘n’ Comedy Connection. Most likely with better results.

The WWE Hall of Famer will bring his act to the Mix this Saturday at 8:15 p.m. as part of the “Dirty Details Tour: Tales From The Pit.” Among the thrills: comedy acts and sordid tales from the wrasslin’ life, not to mention the expected autographs and photo time with fans.

Roberts, a Texas native, was known for hauling his pet python into the ring and his distinctive cranium-to-the-mat finishing move, the DDT. Fame in the ring also came with struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, which he’s apparently not shy about discussing.

Pre-sale tickets are available online.
