St. Patrick’s Day lands on Tuesday, March 17 this year, but plenty of San Antonio bars, bakeries and hotels are stretching the celebration across the weekend and beyond. Whether you’re craving green beer, Irish whiskey or desserts infused with Irish cream, these local spots are serving festive specials worth raising a glass to.

The Gunter Hotel

Downtown’s historic The Gunter Hotel is leaning into the holiday spirit with festive specials across its outlets — Jots, Bar 414 and the Keystone Club. On St. Patrick’s Day, look for $6 green beers or order the Boxty à la Bayou, a hearty twist on the classic Irish potato pancake topped with Guinness-braised beef, braised cabbage and Dijon cream sauce, finished with crispy shallots and parsley. 311 N. St. Mary’s St., (210) 227-3241, thegunterhotel.com.

Plaza San Antonio Hotel & Spa

Inside Plaza San Antonio Hotel & Spa, restaurant Corinne San Antonio is offering “The Dublin Double,” a simple but fitting St. Patrick’s Day pairing. Guests can order $8 pours of Jameson Irish Whiskey to toast the occasion then pair the spirit with Corinne’s Chocolate Guinness Cake. 555 S. Alamo St.,(210) 229-1000, corinnesatx.com

Backyard on Broadway

Neighborhood pizza joint Backyard on Broadway is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day all month long with festive food and drink specials. The highlight is a $25 Shepherd’s Pie pizza that blends the flavors of the classic Irish dish with the comfort of a cheesy pie. Guests can pair it with a $4 green beer for a budget-friendly way to toast the holiday. 2411 Broadway, (210) 455-6167, backyardonbroadway.com.

Clementine

Acclaimed San Antonio restaurant Clementine is marking St. Patrick’s Day with a one-day-only festive edition of its popular Feed Me tasting experience on March 17. The holiday-inspired menu reimagines Irish flavors through dishes such as hot-pot cabbage with fried oysters, potato-Irish cheddar terrine and Irish lobster agnolotti. The experience concludes with a sweet “pot of gold” before dessert — a refined nod to the holiday tradition. The restaurant’s regular dinner menu will also be available for guests who prefer to order à la carte. 2195 NW Military Highway, (210) 503-5121, clementine-sa.com.

Three Star Bar, The Modernist, Smash’d, Bubbles & Bourbon

Why stop at one bar when you can have four? The resident drink suppliers along East Grayson Street are hosting a St. Patrick’s Day block party on Sunday, March 15. A $40 wristband scores you a drink at each bar, and the best thing is, they’re all within walking distance. The party runs 2 p.m.-10 p.m. Wristbands are available online. 521 E. Grayson St.

The Hayden

This San Antonio deli-meets-diner is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a playful mashup of Irish comfort food and its signature Jewish diner fare. The Hayden’s limited-time menu includes classics such as shepherd’s pie, corned beef hash, a stacked corned beef sandwich and crispy croquettes, along with a lineup of Irish-inspired cocktails to match. The festive specials will be available Thursday, March 12 through Tuesday, March 17. 4025 Broadway, (210) 437-4306, thehaydensa.com.

Rosario’s ComidaMex & Bar

Southtown staple Rosario’s is adding a splash of Irish spirit to its cocktail lineup with a limited-time Jameson Paloma available throughout St. Patrick’s Day weekend. On March 17, guests can also enjoy complimentary samples of the festive cocktail, getting a chance to toast the holiday with a citrusy twist on the classic whiskey pour. 722 S. St. Mary’s St., (210) 223-1806, rosariossa.com.

One highlight is the Four-Leaf Clover Fields, made with bourbon, matcha, vanilla, lemon and agave. Other options include Emeralds & Gold — coconut rum, pandan, mint, lime and mineral water — and The 777, which combines tequila, cucumber, honeydew, lime and habanero.
