The Force is strong in the San Antonio Public Library.
To celebrate Star Wars Day — May the Fourth, as in “May the Fourth be with you” — four SAPL branches are holding events tied to the beloved sci-fi franchise. From crafting mini-lightsabers to a screening of Star Wars: Rebels, the library is offering plenty of ways for fans to get their geek on.
The Johnston Branch, Las Palmas Branch and Westfall Branch libraries will host their May the Fourth activities on the big day itself, while the Pan American branch will push its celebration back to Tuesday. (The Force sometimes works in mysterious ways, no?)
If you’re feeling creative, Johnston and Las Palmas will host hands-on activities such as creating galaxy jars and participating in a scavenger hunt .
Those who want to vie for the title of No. 1 Star Wars fan of all time, Westfall will host a trivia night followed by a screening of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Meanwhile, Pan American will delay its geek-out session to May 5 and host a screening of Star Wars: Rebels along with crafts and snacks.
More information, including start times and a full list of festivities, is available on the SAPL website.
Outside of the events, library officials remind fans that its entire collection of Star Wars books, eBooks, audiobooks, movies and music are accessible with a library card all year long.
