As San Antonio’s Alamodome continues to be a magnet for heavyweight musical touring acts, hotel Marriott Rivercenter has decided it wants in on the action.

The downtown property is now offering a new Alamodome Concert Hotel Package on select dates from March 19, 2026, through February 26, 2027. The offer comes as the Alamodome plans to host a string of high-profile concerts this summer such as AC/DC performing in July and My Chemical Romance, Guns N’ Roses and Bruno Mars following in September.

The Marriott package bundles breakfast for two at the hotel’s Café Bocadillo, self-parking and a 2 p.m. late checkout to help with post-show hangovers. Large-scale shows at the Alamodome can draw over 40,000 attendees, and by packaging overnight accommodations with event access, Marriott believes it can generate an economic boost to surrounding businesses.

The move follows a long debate about the economic viability of revitalizing downtown. Earlier this month, San Antonio City Council approved the first contracts to fund Project Marvel, an effort anchored by the construction of a new arena for the Spurs. Investors are betting that by bringing a new sports and entertainment district to Hemisfair, San Antonio can stay in economic competition with other developing Texas cities.

Marriott’s package is a smaller bet on a similar premise to Project Marvel: that big events can make downtown a destination in and of itself.

Whether that starts with a billion-dollar arena or breakfast for two at Café Bocadillo remains to be seen. But at least we know where Marriott stands.
