Dallas-based chain Wingstop is growing its already formidable San Antonio presence, state regulatory filings show.
The company, which already has 20 San Antonio-area stores, is dropping nearly $1 million to open three new stores here this year, according to filings made with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation over recent months.
Here’s where they are and when construction is expected to be complete:
4211 E. Loop 1604 North in Converse — Finish date: Nov. 10
314 S. WW White Road — Finish date: Jan. 27, 2027
6338 Old Pearsall Road, Suite 101 — Finish date: March 9, 2027
Wingstop — known for its standard and boneless wings along with tender and chicken sandwiches — has been on a brisk growth trajectory since launching in 1994 with a single North Texas store. The chain had 3,255 stores at the end of June, a 437-unit increase from the same time a year prior.
Last year, Wingstop ranked as the nation’s fastest-growing restaurant chain, beating out Chipotle, 7 Brew and Jersey Mike’s, respectively, according to industry trade publication QSR.
The business has largely fueled its growth by selling franchises to local operators. Officials have said they want to reach 10,000 units over the long term, QSR reports.
