Fresh Bowl & Co., a chain that originated in Puebla, Mexico, will debut its first U.S. location later this month in Stone Oak.

The new store will open Saturday, Oct. 17, at 115 N. Loop 1604 East, Suite 2103, in La Arcata Plaza. A grand opening party will take place 11 a.m.-6 p.m., and the first 50 guests in line will receive a free bowl, although proteins and extras aren’t included.

Fresh Bowl follows the popular, build-your-own bowl concept popularized by chains such as Sweetgreen and Cava, allowing guests to choose from a base of greens, grains or beans and add toppings, veggies, proteins and dressings to create their own dish. The concept also serves customizable wraps.

The grand opening event also will feature protein and sauce samples, coupons for future visits and a “stop the clock” interactive challenge for guests who make a purchase.

San Antonio has been a hotspot for Mexico-based chains in the past two years. Tacos on the Street and Baltico both chose the Alamo City to debut their first U.S. locations, making Fresh Bowl & Co. at least the third south-of-the-border concept to make the jump.
