Once again, San Antonio’s Trinity University has ranked as one of the best schools not just in Texas but also in the nation.

The latest accolades come from a study released this week by online personal finance blog WalletHub.

WalletHub examined 740 U.S. higher education institutions across seven categories, including student selectivity, cost and financing, faculty resources, campus safety, campus experience, education outcomes and career outcomes, to compile its 2027 Best Colleges and Universities Rankings.

Trinity ranked as the second-best school in Texas and the 49th-best nationally overall. The liberal arts school scored exceptionally well on WalletHub’s measures of admission rate, student-faculty ratio and median salary after graduation.

The study’s highest-ranked Texas colleges are:

  1. Rice University, Houston
  2. Trinity University, San Antonio
  3. The University of Texas at Austin
  4. Texas A&M University — College Station
  5. Southwestern University, Georgetown

Trinity University was the only college in San Antonio to make it onto WalletHub’s rankings.

Nationally, Princeton University ranked as the best school, followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at No. 2, Yale at No. 3, and the California Institute of Technology and Harvard University rounding out the top 5.

Texas politics is a mess. We make it a readable mess.
