San Antonio-based personal-injury attorney Thomas J. Henry on Wednesday said he will vote for James Talarico in Texas’ U.S. Senate race — even though he supported Republican Ken Paxton in the GOP primary.
In a minute-long video message posted to his social media channels, Henry said his early support for Paxton stemmed from his belief that the candidate’s primary opponent, incumbent U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, had been in office too long.
However, Henry added that he asked for a one-on-one meeting with Talarico as he became more aware of Paxton’s laundry list of scandals.
“That meeting was extremely valuable because it taught me the values Talarico has: the values for respect, fairness, safety, good economics for Texas, and our country, and a balanced approach to all the issues,” Henry said.
Henry’s endorsement comes amid record early-voting turnout in Bexar County ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Both Talarico and Paxton will visit San Antonio before Election Day. Talarico will hold rallies on Oct. 24 and Nov. 1, while Paxton will conclude his “Come and Take It Tour” at the Alamo on Nov. 2.
Early voting continues through Oct. 30. Polls will reopen on Election Day, Nov. 3.
