The highly-anticipated Wonder Woman roller coaster is set to open this weekend, according to a press release from Six Flags Fiesta Texas. First announced last August, the new addition is the world's first single-rail streamline coaster.

Though a couple of months behind the expected March opening date, the Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster is ready to welcome its first riders on Saturday.

“With the launch of the Wonder Woman coaster, Six Flags Fiesta Texas has created an impressive trilogy of DC Super-Hero attractions, as WONDER WOMAN: Golden Lasso Coaster joins BATMAN: The Ride 4D Free Fly Coaster and Superman Krypton Coaster,” said Six Flags president Jeffrey Siebert via press release.
The Golden Lasso is the first Wonder Woman-themed ride in the world as well as the first single-rail coaster. The single-seat train design allows riders to have an open-air, unobstructed view of the 90-degree drop (also a first for a Fiesta Texas coaster), as well as the twists and turns.

Fiesta Texas partnered with Warner Bros. to design and build the attraction. In line with Wonder Woman's origins in Themyscira, the attraction is surrounded by tropical landscapes, Greek architecture and even Steve Trevor's crashed plane.

The new ride comes at a cost. The Golden Lasso is located at the site of the former Power Surge ride, which closed last July.
