If you still haven’t got your Christmas tree up and decorated, don’t panic. There are still plenty of places to get a pine, and you can even chop it down yourself to make lasting holiday memories.
Many of these Christmas tree farms offer other holiday activities, such as meeting Santa or wandering through an immersive holiday experience. That means you can make a full day of the excursion with the family — or that someone special.
Some of these farms even have photo packages for you to get the perfect snap among the pines for your Christmas cards.

East of Austin you’ll find this super rural farm that allows Texans to cut their own Christmas tree. This year, the available field trees are Virginia Pine and Murray Cypress. Over in Spring you’ll be able to choose and cut your very own tree at this adorable farm. With pine and cypress trees to browse, it won’t be hard to select a tree everyone can agree on. You can even bring your pet as long as they’re leashed. The farm is open on weekdays from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends. Over in Bastrop County you’ll find this super rural Christmas tree farm. The family-owned farm lets Texans take a wagon ride out to where the trees are, where they’ll then be able to cut their own Texas-grown tree or pick a precut tree. This farm located west of Hillsboro may be a bit of a road trip, but it’s perfect for those of us with relatives up in DFW, or anyone who wants a holiday-themed weekend getaway. Plus, you can make a pit stop on the way for kolaches from Czech Stop in nearby West, Texas. This farm prides itself on Christmas trees that last, including Afghan pine and Fraser fir.
