A new store that opened in Dignowity Hill over the weekend offers a little bit of everything, but it somehow all makes sense together.
Wildcraft General, 906 Nolan St., bills itself as an apothecary, cafe and general store.
The “wildcraft” part of its name derives from its devotion to herbalism. As an apothecary, it carries organic herbs by the ounce including ashwaganda, wormwood, yarrow and more.
The term wildcraft refers to the practice of harvesting from the wild and giving back more than was taken. It speaks to a pervading sense of sustainability at the store, which seems to be a thought behind every product.
The “general” part of its name refers to just about everything else in the space, including a curated selection of vintage clothing, home and kitchen goods, “clean beauty” products, stationary, snacks and more. Hell, they even sell bone broth for dogs.

The retail spot also includes a cafe, where shoppers can get a coffee or tea to sip while they browse.
The space itself is gorgeous and well appointed, with soft lighting and natural materials showcasing the products on display. Somehow, the goods are disparate but in the same holistic universe.
Wildcraft General is owned by Tyler Beakley and her wife Kelsey Minard. They intend the brick-and-mortar to showcase products from the couple’s company Relyt — a tea, tinctures and aromatherapy brand. Relyt customers can also practice zero-waste by bringing back tea tins for refills at the shop.
Charitable giving is also a foundation of the store’s business model. Beakley, a Kerrville native, said that for the next month a portion of proceeds will go to Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, CultureMap reports.
For those who want to help the store get off the ground, Wildcraft General is offering a Founders Membership with exclusive perks and discounts.
