If you and your family are planning your summer getaway, you may not have to travel far to have a grand old time.
Family Vacation Critic, a family travel site from TripAdvisor, has named Port Aransas the fifth best beach for families in the entire country. The website considered family-friendly amenities such as lifeguard protection, easy access to restrooms and showers as well as the amount of local attractions, restaurants and hotels.
The site also gave Port Aransas Beach high marks as a spot for camping and fishing.
With temperatures rising, a cool dip close to home may be just the right thing to beat the heat.
