San Antonio Is “Happy” In This Pharrell Williams Music Video Remake

My 12-year-old stepson listens to Pharrell Williams' ear worm of a song “Happy” when he brushes his teeth. He bops his head, and dances in front of the sink.  He really likes that song, but he’s not the only one.

In fact, so many people like this song they’ve taken to making their own inspired music videos. Boston College did one.  These dancing dogs have one, too. On an international scale, it would seem entire countries feel happy. Subcultures, like these cosplayers, feel the same way.  Everybody feels happy, and San Antonio is no exception.

HeartFireMedia210 has a mega-cut of people and institutions in San Antonio busting moves in their video “San Antonio Is Happy.” The cast of happy dancers and singers include Cleto Rodriguez of WOAI TV, the football and dance teams from the University of the Incarnate Word, as well as doctors from the University Health System.  Additionally, they have babies smiling, Spurs fans wiggling, and dogs sniffing to the beat.  Spoon and the crew from Mix 96.1 and Charity McCurdy of news radio 1200 WOAI make their own silly contributions.

All together, we look like an engaged, hip, festive and "happy" city.
