The Esperanza Peace & Justice Center is hosting its 8th Annual Queer Voices Pachanga to foster community and uplift LGBTQ+ stories.

The event, scheduled for Sunday, June 22, will include a resource fair, clothing swap, mercado, performances, food, music and more. It will take place at the Esperanza Center, 922 San Pedro Ave., and admission is free because, as its organizers put it, “pride should never come with a price tag.”

“In a time when LGBTQ+ rights are increasingly under attack across the country, San Antonio is standing tall — louder, prouder and more unified than ever,” Esperanza Center officials said in an emailed statement. “The 8th Annual Queer Voices Pachanga returns as both celebration and sanctuary: a day of joy, resilience and radical togetherness that reminds us we are not alone — we are a force.”

Attendees can find gender-affirming clothing at the free clothing swap or grab a plate of food and browse the market ahead of the night’s entertainment. The event will also feature a Cuir Blessing Ceremony from the Cuir Curanderas, who include local chef Rebel Mariposa, Erika Casasola and Sophia Velasquez.

Entertainment for the evening will include drag and burlesque performances, poetry and live music. The showcase is hosted and organized by queer performer Chibbi Orduña of Gem.In.Eyes Productions and lesbian author and speaker Anel I. Flores.

Experts also will be on hand to offer know-your-rights legal updates. Free, 2-8 p.m. Sunday, June 22, Esperanza Peace & Justice Center, 922 San Pedro Ave., (210) 228-0201, esperanzacenter.org
