Like they do every Christmas season, Santa and Mrs. Claus will travel the San Antonio River on a barge mounded with toys for the 43rd Annual Ford Holiday River Parade.

The parade and river-lighting ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. A live broadcast of the event will get underway at 7:05 p.m. from the Arneson River Theatre.

This year’s Ford Holiday River Parade will feature 27 illuminated floats along with five entertainment barges featuring live music and other performances. The theme of this year’s event is Toy Box Adventures, and Frost Bank CEO Phil Green will serve as grand marshal.

The parade will be set against the backdrop of more than 100,000 Christmas lights, which adorn the River Walk until the weekend after New Year’s Day.

Tickets range from $12.50 to $40 and are available online. Ticket purchasers may select the section of the river from which they wish to view the parade.

Downtown restaurants and hotels are also offering dinner and parade viewing packages. Among those hosting parties are the Iron Cactus, Paesanos, Dick’s Last Resort, Zocca, Rainforest Cafe, Cafe Olé, Ácenar, Hard Rock Cafe, Margaritaville and Morton’s Steakhouse.
