If you read the Top Picks this week (which I hope you did), and you’re going to Artpace tonight (which I hope you are: 6-8:30pm, 445 North Main Avenue), then you’ll see that, as yours truly predicted, Texas-based artist Joshua Bienko has incorporated elements of his LOUIS le’ Con series into his installation in the museum’s Main Avenue windows, where his Jeff Koons-inspired Ever So Much More So also found some “sexy real estate” (which is how the artist described the red soles of the Christian Louboutin heels below). Upstairs in the Hudson (Show)Room, Gabriel Vormstein’s The Teeth of the Wind and the Sea shows the Berlin-based artist moving on from (but not abandoning entirely) redrawing Egon Schiele’s lingerie-clad gals and even experimenting with sculptural elements (dried banana chips, matches, bottle caps, etc.) as promised.
