The Spurs look to continue their dominance against Eastern Conference opponents when the Chicago Bulls make their only stop in San Antonio this season on Monday night.
League MVP candidate Victor Wembanyama was masterful on both ends of the court when the teams met in November, finishing the night with a commanding 38 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks in a 121-117 win for the Spurs.
After a recent victory against the Rockets, Wembanyama turned the spotlight toward his teammates.
“Maybe the best thing about this team is that these guys are trustworthy,” he told members of the media. “I can trust them to make the right play. I can trust them to play unselfishly. Anybody here can trust that if they do the effort, my teammates will make the right choice, and we’ll capitalize on it.”
Next up for the Spurs is a West Coast swing that includes matchups against a trip of potential playoff foes including the Warriors, Clippers and Nuggets.
