Seventeen Texas teens are heading to New York City this Thanksgiving to perform during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The performance will be put on by Camp Broadway, "the “original” Broadway summer camp," according to Playbill.com, and the students will perform Irving Berlin’s “This Is a Great Country” in honor of U.S. military families. The 17 area teens are part of a group of 128 performers for that day.
Las Casas Foundation, a San Antonio-based nonprofit dedicated to "the development of the performing arts through education and scholarships and the restoration and preservation of historic theatres" will sponsor 10 of the students.
