The Esperanza Peace and Justice Center held its 30th annual Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, celebration on Saturday.

Twenty altars built by members of the West Side community were on display at the event, which also featured live music, a visual art exhibition by MujerArtes Cooperativa de Esperanza and readings by Teatro Esperanza.

Participants undertook a parade in honor of departed loved ones from the Rinconcito de Esperanza to the Alázan-Apache Courts, accompanied by the Kalpulli Ayolopaktzin dance troupe.
