The Alamo City’s soccer team, San Antonio FC, is hosting two free watch parties this weekend as both Team Mexico and Team USA advance in the FIFA World Cup.
Team Mexico fans are invited to cheer on the “El Tri” at Toyota Field as they take on England on Sunday, July 5. Mexico advanced to the Round of 16 this week after defeating Ecuador 2-0, earning its first knockout-stage victory since 1986.
The first 1,000 fans to enter Toyota Field for the Team Mexico watch party will receive a free ticket to a future San Antonio FC match.
Meanwhile, Team USA fans will get a chance to cheer on the red, white and blue on July 6 as they take on powerhouse Belgium. This match marks the first time the U.S. men’s national team has advanced in the knockout rounds since 2002.
Both watch parties, which are open to all ages, start at 6 p.m. at 5106 David Edwards Drive and will feature food, drinks, and an electric matchday atmosphere.
Fans can claim their tickets now by visiting SAFC’s official website.
