Celebrate the holidays a little early this Saturday as The University of the Incarnate Word celebrates their annual Light The Way.

The free event will start earlier this year at 3 p.m. The spectacular twinkling lights will be turned at 6:30 p.m., allowing guests to enjoy holiday fun under the stars. The lights will be turned on nightly from Nov. 17 to Jan. 6.

Saturday’s schedule includes live entertainment, musical performances, fireworks, a kid’s corner where the little ones will get to play and take selfies with Santa, decorate a cookie with Bird Bakery, ride a kiddie train, and take part in activities organized by The DoSeum and Fun4Alamo Kids.

More than 40 venders will be featured in their Holiday Shoppe – it’s never too early for Christmas shopping. Guests won’t go hungry either with the SA Food Truck Association’s Food Truck Yard where more than a dozen food and dessert trucks will be featured.

Additionally, UIW will be collecting new and unused toys for the Elf Louise Christmas Project according to the website.

Parking will be limited on campus. Those seeking to park on campus may only enter through the gate at Highway 281. Overflow parking will be available at the AT&T Lot across Hildebrand.
