San Antonio is a rapidly growing metro, and nowhere is the city’s robust growth more evident than the North Side’s sprawling Stone Oak neighborhood. During a relatively short time, it’s become a hotbed for eateries, bars and nightlife.
This list rounds up new drinking and dining spots in and around Stone Oak. We even included a few future openings so foodies have something to look forward to.

It’s first San Antonio location, Kung Fu Saloon brings together the fun of vintage arcade games with the vibe of a night club. Featuring a full bar, DJ, and pub-style grub, this new spot near The Rim makes for a fun night out on the North Side.

Tlahco’s second location in San Antonio serves up the same delicious enchiladas as their other location on San Pedro. The new Stone Oak location will spice things up a bit by adding cabrito, cochinita pibil, huitlacoche quesadillas, rib-eye steak and other specialty dishes to the menu. And, it also features a full bar.

LA-based Mochinut is serving up their famous Korean-style doughnuts at their second San Antonio location. Mochinut has built a fanatical following by serving a variety of flavors of their rice flour doughnuts, including raspberry, coffee, guava, matcha and banana. The donuts don’t just taste good, but they’re also Instagram-worthy.

Stout House’s fourth location offers a rotating lineup of 20 beers on tap, $8 beer flights and a full bar. TVs are scattered throughout, and guests are welcome to bring in their own food, since this Stout House location doesn’t have a kitchen.

One of the most popular names in birria and mariscos, El Remedio, recently expanded its food truck fleet to four. The new truck parked at Little Woodrow’s off 1604 serves up all the classics with ceviches, quesadillas, and consommé-dipped tacos filled with stewed meat.

La Catrina Mexican Bakery & Coffee has everything you could every want for a truly puro breakfast. From Conchas, empanadas, and roscas de Reyes, to Chilaquiles and molletes — this spot is perfect when you’re craving Mexican food for breakfast. The coffee is pretty incredible too as the beans are sourced from Chiapas, Mexico.

The California-based chain’s new location will feature Dog Haus’ famous hormone-free weiners and burgers served in a biergarten-style pub that offers 24 beers on tap and an array of signature cocktails. The new location’s dogs include fan favorites such as the Sooo Cali, which features wild arugula, avocado, tomato, crispy onions and basil aioli atop a juicy frank.

The longtime Tex-Mex staple moved to its new location off of 1604 after nearly 25 years on Broadway. Although in a new area, Tomatillos is still serving up their famous Enchiladas Verde and delicious handcrafted margaritas.
