The folks at Bakery Lorraine (511 E Grayson) are teaming up with a few local businesses for a good cause on Sunday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jessica Perez, a baker with Bakery Lorraine which we previously wrote about in our Sweet Heartbreak Feb. 12 cover story, lost her mother Lori Cochran to adrenal cancer on April 28. The barbecue plate fundraiser will help Perez and her family cope with the expenses of losing a loved one.

Grayson Street Eatery, Tim the Girl Catering, The Granary and the Culinary Institute of America-San Antonio will all donate parts of the plate. For $10 folks can chow on brisket, coleslaw, beans, potato salad, barbecue sauce and a small cookie.

Local artists Jake Harper and TJ Vanlandingham of Zollie Glass, along with Miranda Fermin, Hilary Harty, Rudy Herrera, Clare Garcia, David Rangel, Peyton May and Pierce Gray Tilton will donate works for the silent art auction.
