It's time to drown our sorrows in a big margarita — but you won't be able to do so at Cha-Cha's.
Cha-Cha's Mexican Restaurant is closed for business. The 32-year-old establishment owned by the Ruiz family announced via social media yesterday afternoon.
TL;DR: The restaurant at 5616 Bandera Road has seen a drop in business due to "tough times." In its 32 years, Cha-Cha's became known for classic Tex-Mex plates and boozy margaritas. In 2014, after the sudden passing of patriarch Ricardo Ruiz, the Babcock location was closed.
You can enjoy one last margarita (or two, or three, or four) during the 35th Annual Margarita Pour Off at Nelson Wolff Stadium on September 23, 2017. Cha-Cha's will still function as a catering operation and margarita machine business, according to the post.
