San Antonio Meals on Wheels, one of Cherrity Bar’s nonprofit beneficiaries this month, is pitting three of the city’s top chefs against each other.
Chef James Canter of Guerrilla Gourmet, chef Chris Carlson of The Maverick and chef Michael Sohocki of Gwendolyn and Kimura, will compete for bragging rights as to who can make the best paella as picked by a panel of judges.
Cooking starts at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 29, and Guerrilla Gourmet will have food available for purchase.
Every $10 sold in food and each drink purchases means patrons receive tokens to cast their votes for one of three featured nonprofits for the month. At the end of every month, 10 percent of profits are donated to the Tourette Association of America and the remaining profits from the bar are allocated to the charities based on patron voting.
