After making its San Antonio debut last December inside downtown’s historic Gunter Hotel, South Korean chain Paris Baguette is now working on its third store here, state regulatory filings show.
Construction will begin in June on a $750,000 Paris Baguette bakery at 20135 Stone Oak Parkway, Suite 1025, inside the Stone Oak Mercantile development, documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show. Completion is set for October.
The 3,800-square-foot French-style cafe will feature sales, dining and kitchen areas inside an existing structure, records also indicate.
Last month, the company let regulators know that work on its second San Antonio store, 5518 N. Loop 1604 West, in the Landmark North shopping center, was getting underway. That unit is expected to begin serving customers late this summer.
Paris Baguette stores, inspired by the French boulangerie tradition, offer self-serve access to fresh sweet and savory pastries baked onsite and restocked daily. The chain’s menu also includes coffee, panini sandwiches and salads.
After growing into South Korea’s top-selling bakery chain, Paris Baguette jumped into the United States and other markets in 2005, largely through franchising. The company, which already operates nearly 300 U.S. stores, plans to cross the 1,000 mark stateside by 2030, according to report by publication Chain Store Age.
