Paris Baguette — the South Korean chain known for pastries and café ambiance inspired by the French boulangerie tradition — is moving to open a second San Antonio location just three months after launching its first.

State records show the chain filed to spend $9,000 finishing out a shop at 5518 N. Loop 1604 West, in the Landmark North shopping center. The 4,500-square-foot outpost has an estimated late-August completion date, according to documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

San Antonio’s first Paris Baguette location opened last December in the lobby level of the recently renovated Gunter Hotel.

The Landmark North shopping center at Loop 1604 and I-10 has emerged as a growing hub for chain restaurants. Sicilian Butcher made its San Antonio debut in the same center, and the city’s second Fogo de Chao location is also located there.

Founded in 1988, Paris Baguette was created to introduce French-style baking to South Korea’s then-emerging food market. Since then, the brand has grown into a global powerhouse with more than 4,000 locations worldwide. The model is self-serve, and the cafes’ fresh sweet and savory pastries are restocked daily.

Paris Baguette also offers a selection of cakes, in addition to caffeine-based drinks, specialty coffees, smoothies and more.
